Ron Paul and Rand Paul Discuss Healthcare & National Security
www.ronpaul.com – http – 02/23/2010 Government involvement in health care eliminates price competition and therefore increases costs, asserted Rand Paul, who appeared with his father Ron Paul on cnn’s Situation Room today. The Obama administration’s claim that increased health care spending won’t increase the debt is ridiculous, and new solutions are required. Ron Paul attacked the government for fighting undeclared wars; the sooner we end them, the better, because they are one of the causes of the US government’s de facto bankruptcy. Rand Paul stated that the government’s primary purpose is national defense; therefore, any potential war should be carefully debated before it is actually started. Rand Paul is running for the US Senate in Kentucky. Check out his website at www.randpaul2010.com Ron Paul is America’s leading voice for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. Wow first time hearing his son and I am hugely disappointed.
I don’t believe one second that he would defend his father’s ideas if elected.
His son is a bad politician.
i am not a democrat, or republican.
i am Ron Paulblican.

You have to cut all your expenses for your family and household. Why can’t we hold our congress, politicians and state governments to these same standards/ DO NOT APPROVE ANY MORE TAX INCREASES!!! THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER. CUT SPENDING which means you have to trim the fat. This includes getting rid of too many POLICE, AGENTS and other government workers who were hired on during a time of over spending by our elected officials…. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Nice catch, chicagomike88. There are probably many other falacies the spin-doctors have mastered. It is sickening to think that we are coerced with threat of jail (via taxes) to pay for the salaries of those whose sole purpose is to pull the wool over our eyes and further empower those that that want to take away our civil and economic liberties for no other end than their gain.
Ron Paul for FREEDOM!
You forgot one of governments favorites: the fallacy of false cause.
Moving out of state is much more agreeable than having to move out of country for healthcare.
translated: “The simple answer is outlaw the insurance companies. It’s unconstitutional but hey, there’s nothing constitutional about gov. being an insurance company either”
uhh… How does the latter justify the former? Government control in general? Bad. More of it? Worse.
I guess you missed where it says “Live”. Meaning there is a 7 to 10 second delay.
I do not care for Fox, CNN, MSNBC or any other consolidated corporate sponsored media that promotes the fake left or fake right.
Also, I am about 3 and a half years younger than you, so not exactly a “kid”.
cnn was aware of their differences on military before this was taped, and so they could put up the script saying faher and son disagree. wolf gave them both time to discuss their views.
go watch fox news where you can get your fill of reliable news. hahahahahahahah newsflash, kid. all media has inherent biases. lmao at you thinking that others don’t realize that
b/c fox news is unbiased reporting

Good point. The arguments have gone from battling the actual issues to who can spin the best logical fallacy, including the favourites: ad hominem, straw man, affirming the consequent, and appeal to authority. None of those do the citizens any good, but are great at getting the increasingly ignorant public to vote you into office for another term.
it’s funny how the news presenters always try to spin whatever Ron Paul says into a big joke – Ron knows this and it’s sometimes hard to fight back against that but I think in general he’s a good speaker. I really fucking hate how nobody talks about the issues anymore people just poke fun at one another to discredit the other. it’s this fucking douche-bag society we live in.
the simlpe ansrues is out law insurance co. its unconstational but hey there is nothing constatuational about gove being are insurance co ether
I agree. Also, if you read Rand’s website on foreign policy issues it sounds a lot like his father’s, with the exception of Gitmo. Ron has always said we need a strong national defense, but he opposes empirical wars, pre-emptive wars and wars without declaration. I even think Rand is partially correct on Gitmo if they would use it to hold trials for suspected terrorists and do away with the extreme interrogation (torture) methods currently being employed there.
LOL
broke broke broke broke broke
is reason enough to shrink government and government programs
IT IS not sustainable
period
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
common senseeeeeeeeee
WHY
Hmm I dont know if Rand is a neocon…hard to say. I think Ill wait on passing judgement…
You should go read his website and listen to his speeches on foreign policy. His foreign policy ideals are very in line with Ron’s. CNN played a gotcha and some people fell for it.
You gotta love CNN’s brainwashing.. As Wolf asks the question, as a statement, that they are split on national security they splash “Developing story, Split on national security, Rand differs from father on key issue”. He did not even answer yet! LOL. And morons buy this.
We haven’t had rule of law since 1861 but you wouldn’t know that as an Israeli.
For this who are criticizing Rand’s stance on foreign policy, I think it’s important to remember that he is saying he would insist on a vote either to declare or not declare war. This is a radical difference between him and almost everyone in government today, and makes him much more likely to be a peacemaker when he gets to Washington. I don’t think he’s as good as his dad on this issue, but his views are closer to his dad’s than they are to the mainstream. A neocon he is not.
There is no way that long-term, the current Democratic healthcare plans won’t add to the debt. Borrow money from Medicare, which is already underfunded? Great solution.
I don’t agree with some of Rand’s statements on homeland security and imperialism, but he’s still much better than anyone else who might take that seat.
